Today is an exciting day at Focus where we get to finally reveal some UX changes we have been working on along side a great new feature we are calling Reserved Seats.
Reserved Seats
Reserved Seats is the concept of being able to either give or purchase seats on a trip without fully knowing who is going on the trip at the time. As an admin who wants to give seats, head over to the applicants section of a trip that allows for reserved seating and click on the action gear then click “Give Seats”. After finding someone or adding a person, you can choose how many seats to give and the value of the seat (if they are for deposit only or the full amount of the trip). The individual will receive an email informing them they received seats to give.
The user can also purchase additional seats by going through the same registration process to pay for the seats and can either choose to pay just the deposit or the full trip seat amount. Then at a later time, the user can use the seats to register individuals for a trip.
You can toggle whether reserved seats are available for a mission trip by editing the application settings for a trip. For trips that allow for group registration, an additional option will appear asking if this trip allows for reserved seating.
UX Changes
Part of this release are some enhancements to the UX around applicants and leaders/members. The applicant view have historically been a little different than a team member view to the team leader / admin. We have combined this into one screen to allow for consistency, easy of navigation and also allows the ability to add funds to applicants in those situations where an applicant registered online but gave you a check for the initial deposit.
For individuals that have registered a group of people to go on a trip, there is now a new “Group View” so they can easily see the status of all the people they have responsibilities for. In the right corner, where individuals can be chosen, there is now the option for “My Group” which allows the individual to see a holistic picture of the people registered allow with any reserved seats that are vacant.
We also added a menu that you can see from above for a “Member View” and an “Admin View”. This will come in handy when you are on a trip that you have some sort of leadership role on but you are also a team member that is responsible for your own checklists or others’ funding / checklists. It allows the user to quickly toggle between what view they want to be in whether it be in the admin view to see the entire team or the member view to only see who the user is responsible for.
We are very thankful to be able to serve you guys. Please let us know what you think in the comments below.
