Meet 12Stone Church

WHAT IS THE MISSION OF 12STONE CHURCH?
12Stone Church exists to help transform Souls, Families, & Communities.Because of the rescuing hand of Jesus, we pursue personal transformation, one life at a time.
WHAT WAS THE PROBLEM?
n 2015, 12Stone began to build a stronger focus on encouraging our people to be a part of a global mission trip. Over three years we were able to double the number of trips per year (from 10 to 21).
The growth was exciting but also put a strain on our global outreach team of only one part-time and one full-time staff members. All the trip logistics were managed manually through Excel, Word Documents, and our church database program, Ministry Platform.
We had reached the capacity of trips that our staff could handle, and other areas of ministry were being neglected because of the time needed to handle the trip logistics.
WHAT LED YOUR ORGANIZATION TO TRY GO METHOD?
We knew that we could not continue to grow the global outreach ministry of 12Stone and still serve our ministry partners well without making changes to our process. We had looked at other mission trip management options, but none seemed to work well with our database system and meet our church’s needs.
Our Director of Technology was contacted by Full Method and asked if we would be interested in learning more. After the first demo call, our team was excited about the system that was presented.
Go Method was able to integrate with MP as well as our financial platform. There were so many options to help us customize and automate our mission trip logistics.
WHAT STOOD THE MOST WHEN YOU STARTED USING GO METHOD?
The biggest impact Go Method has had for our team is the amount of time it has freed up for us to focus on things other than trip logistics.
Before Go Method, about 90% of our time was spent on processing applications, creating team spreadsheets, tracking paperwork and team funding, along with trying to keep our leaders up to date on all the trip/team information. That has now flipped and we only need to put about 10% to 15% of our time into trip logistics which has freed us up to focus on building ministry partnerships, creating better training material, and investing in missionary support.
Our trip leaders also experienced a positive change with Go Method. They can now approve applications and manage team members without waiting to receive information from our staff. They can log on to the trip account and immediately see funding progress and any outstanding paperwork. It had been especially helpful for leaders who manage more than one team.
Personally, I have also been extremely impressed with the customer support that is offered. Anytime an issue has come up I have been able to submit a ticket and almost always receive a response in the same day.
“After using Go Method, we could never go back to the way trips were managed in the past. We have been able to increase the number of trips and participants without an impact on our staff capacity. One other thing that has Go Method has also helped to change is our outlook on trip funding. Previously, we only encouraged participants to send written letters and discouraged them from using social media. The Go Method has helped us see that we can use social media to our advantage in trip funding. It has also made the funding process easier by decreasing the number of checks we manually have to process and allows participants to receive a donation with just a click of a button. In a world where checks are disappearing, and online giving is increasing this was a much need transition that the Go Method helped us to make.”
